La Herencia is a 3D animated short film that narrates the adventures of its main characters Maya and Baktún. This idea arises from the need to foster care and love for nature in society.
Through 3D animation, we intend to promote and showcase the culture, unique and beautiful landscapes of Guatemala like never before. This is why the story will be taking place in Panajachel, Sololá one of the most iconic sites of Guatemala.
The duration of the short film is of 9 approximately. Production will begin on October 15 and end on December 15, 2021. The short film “La Herencia” is scheduled to be released online on December 20, 2021. * Dates may vary, depending on COVID-19 restrictions or sponsorship collection.
Our main characters in the short film “La Herencia” will be developed in 3D with the
most advanced
animation techniques.
Maya is a curious 5-year-old girl who is always interested in learning new things.
Baktun is inspired by a Quetzal, the national bird of Guatemala. This character will be Maya´s best friend
and together they will learn and have adventures that will show different places throughout Guatemala.
Maya and Baktun are completely original characters developed by ICAN-B Animation.
ICAN-B Animation has a professional team that has worked in developing 3D projects in the
United States and other parts of the world.
The ICAN-B Animation team has created characters, music videos, movies, training videos, and
marketing/advertisement commercials for private and public companies.

German Almaraz was born and raised in Guatemala City. He studied at the Siglo 21 school, obtaining the title of Expert in Marketing and Advertising, since then he has been interestedin 3D design and video production. Then, from years of preparation working for productions such as The Chronicles of Narnia he founded his own animation studio in 2011called WAREX 3D. Currently, it has a fairly broad and recognized record in Central America in the production and postproduction of video and character animation.
Raúl Castillo Originally from the city of Guatemala, at 37 years of age he has a long career as a music
producer, of different musical genres as; Reggaeton, R & B, Hip Hop, Electro Latino, Urban Merengue, Dance,
Pop, etc. In his more than 10 years of career he has worked with several national and international artists.
Also with an experience of 18 years as Disc Jockey in Radio and Nightclubs. He is also a 3d designer for
concerts, corporate events, set design, etc. he produces and develops events. He is a 2d designer for 5
years and 3 years as a video editor.

Dr. Jose Davila has a Ph. D. in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) since 2016. He is a Doctoral Level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D). He completed his dissertation under the supervision of Dr. Fernando Guerrero. He has been a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) since 2011. He has worked with children, adolescents, and adults with developmental disabilities since 2008. He has consulted in homes, schools, day programs, developmental centers, and residential facilities. He has worked with different school districts (i.e., LAUSD, BUSD) regional centers (i.e., Lanterman Regional Center, North Los Angeles County Regional Center, East Los Angeles County Regional Center) and funding sources. He has experience conducting Functional Analyses (FAs), FBAs (Functional Behavior Assessments), and skill assessments (e.g., AFLS, VB-MAPP, Vineland). He has developed behavioral interventions to successfully treat a variety of problematic behaviors (e.g., self-injurious behaviors, aggression, feeding). Aside from working in the applied setting, he has also taught practicum courses with master-level students at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and National University. He has provided BACB supervision for people working towards attaining their BCBA supervision hours. He has trained direct staff, teachers, parents, residential staff and managers, and day program staff. Dr. Davila helped launch ICAN-B in 2015 with the support of his brother Juan Davila. This organization now serves hundreds of families across California.
Juan began working within the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in 2009. He began as a Behavior Therapist, providing behavioral services for individuals with developmental disabilities. During this time Juan gained knowledge on implementing behavioral plans as well as collecting data (e.g., DTT, Task Analysis, etc.). Within the next three years, in 2011, Juan joined an agency that specialized in providing Adaptive Skills Training (AST) services to children and adolescents with developmental disabilities. In the next five years, during his time providing AST services, Juan learned to implement programs that focus on community integration, safety skills, and/or daily living skills. Soon after, Juan was promoted to Case Manager of teams across the San Fernando Valley, where he was in charge of training staff, creating individualized programs for consumers, and providing parent training. Today Juan manages the Administrative Operations at ICAN-B, he oversees Scheduling, Payroll, HR, and Claims departments, all while attending an ABA graduate program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Ricardo F. Ortiz I am a 3D Generalist at Icanb Animation, where he coordinates the production from the animation of StoryBoard 2D, Animatic 3D, Layout, Final composition. He worked with various audiovisual companies in Guatemala such as Studio C, RedPixel, Warex 3D, among others, helping in the areas of Modeling, Texturing, Animation, Lighting, Rendering and Composition. With more than 15 years of experience as a 3D Generalist, in those 15 years he will participate in films such as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe y The Nativity Story.
Andreina Santos es una ilustradora y diseñadora gráfica guatemalteca. Empezó su carrera en el arte enamorándose de historias gráficas para niños y adultos lo que la llevó a seguir una carrera en la ilustración. Su enfoque es en crear experiencias y apoyar a marcas con enfoque social - educacional que generen un impacto positivo en la sociedad.
Andres Almaráz is an 18-year-old young man from Guatemala, he studied at the El Prado Bilingual School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Letters with a computer orientation. He currently works for Ican-B Animation as a 3d Generalist, helping with modeling, animation, texturing and visual effects.
